Books & ordering
What does Gateway Legacy Publishing publish?
Gateway Legacy Publishing (GLP), co-founded by authors Robyn Loveland and Tad Steckler, publishes children’s stories and practical leadership books. Browse five collections: Grief & feelings, Military families, Patriotic stories, Adventure & teamwork, and Leadership.
Our purpose is expressed in these words: Stories that build character. Books that leave a legacy. Look inside a book to see the story, questions, or activities it offers.
Browse the five collections →Can I read a few pages before buying?
Yes. Choose “Read a preview” beside any published book on our Books page. Each preview shows three selected pages, beginning with the story or opening section. Where a book includes workbook or activity pages, the preview includes an example. Open a page at full size for a closer look.
Read our book previews →Where can I buy GLP books?
Visit our Books page and follow the purchase link for the title you want. Each retailer listing shows the current price, available formats, and delivery options.
Explore our books →Are all books available in paperback, hardcover, and ebook?
Formats vary by title. Check the individual retailer listing before ordering to choose the edition that works for you.
Which books are right for my child or group?
Each children’s book page includes recommended ages and a Reader guide. We consider the story’s language, length, themes, illustrations, and activities. The range describes the intended audience; it is not a reading test or a rule about who may enjoy the book.
Share our picture books with a parent or trusted grown-up, even when a child can read the words alone. Pause for questions and let children talk, draw, or dictate a response. Books about grief and military family life benefit from a conversation at the child’s pace. Older children can still find simple stories meaningful.
When Someone We Love Goes Away is recommended for ages 3–8 with a grown-up. The Fugitive Field Rat is an illustrated chapter book for ages 9–12, for independent or shared reading. Check each title’s guide and preview to choose a good fit.
How are the three Who Rises Because of You? books different?
The main leadership book contains stories, lessons, and a short application after each chapter. The separate Companion Workbook provides deeper exercises, fifteen modules, a fourteen-day journal, and a thirty-day plan. The Complete Leadership System combines the leadership lessons and workbook material in one volume.
Compare the leadership editions →Can a school, library, veterans group, or organization order multiple copies?
Contact us with the title, quantity, intended use, delivery location, and date needed. We can discuss the available options; pricing and timing depend on the project.
Schools & organizations →Who can help with a delivery, return, or damaged book?
For a purchase made through Amazon or another retailer, start with that retailer’s order support. For an order arranged directly with GLP, email us with a brief description of the issue. Please do not email payment details.
Contact GLP →Coloring & creative companions
Do your storybooks have matching coloring books?
We are developing matching coloring companions for selected stories, beginning with already-published titles. Our Leadership collection does not have coloring companions. Companions in preparation are not yet available to purchase. Each book page will identify its matching companion, and each companion page will link back to its original book. We will add purchase links as each edition becomes available.
What is inside a coloring companion?
Our current format is 40 total pages: 18 coloring pictures, 18 matching drawing pages, and four introductory pages. The goal is to give readers room to color, imagine, and create. Check the finished edition’s description for its details.
Is the coloring book included with the storybook?
Storybooks and coloring companions are sold separately. A matching companion is not automatically included with your purchase. Check each product description before purchasing.
Are coloring companions just for children?
We are planning creative companions for children and adults. Each edition’s description will identify its intended audience and style so you can choose a comfortable level of detail.
Family stories & community projects
Can you help turn our family history into a book?
Yes. We start with a factual family heritage book, organizing your family stories, photographs, and records. Documented facts, family recollections, and unknown details remain distinct. Tell us which family branches you want to include, what materials you already have, your budget, and your preferred timing.
Discuss a family heritage book →Do we need a complete family tree before we begin?
No. Bring what you have: names, memories, photos, letters, certificates, military records, or previous research. Missing details can be identified as unknown, and possible connections kept separate from documented facts. Additional research is discussed as part of the scope.
Can our family book stay private?
Yes. We can discuss a private family edition. Your family reviews the exact version privately before approving it for printing or release. Public sale is a separate choice; the intended audience, permissions, and print method are agreed before production.
Could we also create a storybook from one family story?
After your heritage book is complete, you can choose to discuss a separate, additional storybook based on a story your family supplies or chooses—for example, one family journey to America. This is optional and is not automatically included or started.
If you choose a dramatized story, it will be clearly labeled as a story inspired by family history. Imagined scenes or dialogue will not be presented as documented family facts.
We agree on a separate outline, scope, price, and review process before that storybook work begins. Your family reviews and approves the exact storybook version privately before printing or release.
Can you create a history book or documents for a church, club, or community group?
Yes. We can discuss histories, anniversary books, memorial tributes, event programs, newsletters, and other editorial or design projects. One authorized contact helps gather materials and coordinate approvals.
Tell us about your project →How much does a custom project cost, and how long does it take?
We provide a project-specific quote after reviewing your materials and goals. Length, images, research, design, revisions, and the chosen format affect cost and timing. Printing and shipping are quoted separately. The written scope explains what is included before work begins.
Working with GLP
Do you consider manuscripts from other authors?
We consider inquiries selectively based on fit with our mission and current capacity. Start with a brief overview, intended readers, manuscript stage, and the collaboration you hope to explore.
Read our submissions guidance →Do you work with AI-assisted projects?
Yes. We welcome thoughtful, transparent AI assistance while keeping the author’s voice, judgment, originality, and accountability at the center. Project responsibilities and expectations are discussed before work begins.
Learn about our approach →Can I use illustrations or pages in my own materials?
Please ask us about permissions before reproducing book text or artwork beyond any permission expressly included with that material. Tell us what you want to use, where it will appear, and who will receive it.
Ask about permissions →How can I share a review of a GLP book?
We welcome honest feedback. Visit Reader voices to email your review and choose whether GLP may feature it, or follow your book’s purchase link to review it at the retailer.
